Sharpie Pen Exercises

Monday, March 21, 2011

Getting a better grip on this Sharpie pen, and starting to like it better. The values come out truer "black" than with ballpoint. I am working on shading flesh tones with it, which I find is a really good exercise for shading.

New Sharpie Pen (Nude Study)

Friday, March 18, 2011

Trying to get used to this new Sharpie pen I bought. Not used to using fine tipped (micron-like) pens. Have always used a ballpoint cheapo, when not using pencil. So this new Sharpie pen is okay. It has no room for value variance, thus the terrible cross hatching. But all in all, it has some good possiblities once I get used to it.

Facebook

Thursday, March 17, 2011

My wife needed to use my computer, so she booted me off, and went to town on Facebook. Important stuff, mankind's fate rests upon the constant management of Facebook. My sketchbook was laying nearby, so I went to town.

Publix

Our neighborhood grocery store. Only 1.2 miles from our house. Everyone inside knows our name. My wife is a chef, and buys many ingredients here. We don't buy groceries once a week, or once per month like normal people. We buy them almost daily at our convenience. Love this place.

Michener

One of the fathers of the historic novel, and one of my favorite authors of all time, James Michener. Michener wrote that he did not know who his biological parents were or exactly when or where he was born. He was raised a Quaker by an adoptive mother, Mabel Michener, in Doylestown, Bucks County, Pennsylvania.
